Unfortunately, over the years, I have had a number of different physical therapy (PT) experiences in both NY and NJ. But fortunately for me, I have now found Pro Staff in Oakland, NJ.A priority of any PT experience has to be the quality of the PT team. After all, although the patient client brings his/her desire to physically improve, ultimately it will be the expertise of the clinical team that will help achieve that goal.At Pro Staff in Oakland, I am in the capable hands of Dr. Jessica Howard and her top-notch support team including Darryl and Toni. And, a bit of luck for me, Julian is currently completing a clinical internship under the tutelage of Dr. Jessica. More hands, more ideas, more progress. From the very first day at Pro Staff, I felt welcome and completely comfortable. Ellen greets everyone by name, and she adeptly addresses all questions/concerns with scheduling and insurance. She also ensures that the facility is tastefully decorated for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, and even March Madness. Pro Staff in Oakland is light, bright, and cheerful.Naturally, my initial clinical evaluation followed all the protocol standards of this healthcare field. But, time was spent focusing upon my personal goals and expectations, too. After weeks here at Pro Staff, I realize that this is an integral part of this team's approach: Know the patient client and help ensure that he/she is actively engaged in a fulfilling PT experience.Even before COVID, the level of cleanliness at any PT facility has always been a concern for me. PT tends to be a congregate setting, and I expect that environment should be clean, orderly, and inviting. After all, I am spending many hours there over the course of several weeks or months.Pro Staff in Oakland attains very high standards for its facility. The PT equipment is current, clean, and well maintained. Everything has a place; there's no clutter; each patient client station is clean, well stocked, and orderly. After all, PT is a serious healthcare enterprise.Anyone who has had a PT experience knows that it would be a stretch of credulity to say that PT is a pleasure. Let's be real: PT is often a painful path to physical progress that patient clients pay for!! Given that premise...there's no place I would rather be for PT than Pro Staff in Oakland, NJ.Terry Lew
