Dr. Shulamit “Shully” Lerman, PT, DPT

Dr. Shulamit “Shully” Lerman has been practicing as a physical therapist for 18 years. Dr. Lerman was born in Israel and has resided in the United States for the past 28 years. She earned her Bachelor’s of Biology from Kean University in New Jersey. She then continued to pursue a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy at Rutgers University in 2001 (previously known as University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey).
Prior to physical therapy, Dr. Lerman worked as a stock market officer before realizing her passion. She began work as a Physical Therapist in an outpatient setting and, in 2003, she earned a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from Rutgers University. Dr. Lerman worked in both private outpatient clinics and hospitals. She also provided physical therapy services for individuals with special needs with neurological and intellectual disabilities. She has treated various musculoskeletal and neurological diagnosis, while maintaining a breadth of experience in orthopedic conditions.
Dr. Lerman’s passion for Physical Therapy, with an extensive professional and educational background, has afforded her a heightened sense of professionalism and respect in treating her patients. She is constantly seeking new evidence-based treatments and implements her studies in the care she administers. Her experiences includes post surgical cases, back and neck pain, and musculoskeletal diagnosis.
Dr. Lerman strongly believes in open communication between therapist and referring doctors to discuss patient’s diagnosis, clinical problems and plan of care. Equally important is the communication and understanding between therapist and patient.
